Family therapy

Family therapy is a special form of psychotherapy that focuses on changes within the family.  It recognizes that intrafamilial relations have an impact on the feelings, behavior and psychological state of each of its members and therefore all, or most, of the family members are involved in the therapy process.

Family therapy is used when one of its members has significant psychological problems, especially where those problems affect other members of the family and/or the family as a whole, for example, where a parent suffers from manic-depressive illness or problems with alcohol or drugs.  In cases such as these, one to one psychotherapy, to directly address problems that the particular individual is experiencing, is also available.

At Ánimo, Center for Psychotherapy, we offer family therapy in Spanish. If you would like more information or would like to make an appointment for a first session please contact us.
